Arina, my current interpretation of a space-being and fairy blend, a mix I often work with. She is made in polymer clay with wire armature.

She came out of an attempt to make a wire doll with clay body, as a figure to pose easily. However she turned out as a blend between modern day Barbie and pre-historic Venus figurine…

This is my first project in culture jamming, which is when you use the medium such as an ad, and flip it, as a way of critiquing it, and the culture at large. What do you get out of this image?

I turn to dolls as representation of powerful undertones, which score our culture. Sadly these nuances seep into our children’s psyche…
